Doom, Need For Speed and others: 10 upcoming games we look forward to!

There are tons of games scheduled for release. So many, that there’s a problem of plenty. You need not worry though, as we are listing out our favourite hand picked titles you should look forward to: Doom Release Date: 2016 Doom Released in 1993, the original Doom took the gaming industry by storm with its gory twitch gameplay. Imagine what it can achieve with today’s advanced graphics. As far as the first recorded video goes, the results look impressive. The action-packed campaign mode seems like a much-needed breather from the interactive movie approach every other game seems to be taking these days. With id, the developer behind the original, in-charge of the latest iteration, fans are unlikely to be disappointed.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Release Date: March, 2016 Uncharted Here’s the PS4 exclusive franchise that even Xbox’s Boss Phil Spencer likes. Uncharted, the actions adventure game has been a killer app on Sony’s gaming console. The third-person shooter follows the journey of a treasure hunter Nathan Drake — Indiana Jones of our times. The Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was supposed to release this year, but is now expected to hit the shelves next year. Looking at the trailer, it seems absolutely worth waiting for.

Street Fighter V Release Date: February, 2016 StreetFighter Capcom’s best-selling franchise, Street Fighter, is gearing up for latest gaming machines. The Street Fighter V brings back the button-mashing fighting gameplay and timeless characters including Ryu, Chun Lee, and India’s very own Dhalsim. The title will support cross-platform matches between Windows and PS4 console. Unfortunately, the Japanese company Capcom has decided not to release the game for Microsoft’s Xbox One.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Release Date: March, 2016 TomClancyTheDivision Never before a game in Tom Clancy series looked so promising. Judging by the gameplay video released by Ubisoft, The Division seems like an intelligent yet explosive shooter we all have been waiting for. The game is set in the post apocalyptic New York, where a pandemic has caused the collapse of the law and order. The protagonist is a part of ‘The Division’ tasked to salvage the society. Apart from the intriguing story, this third person shooter promises stunning visuals and clever gameplay.

Need For Speed Release Date: November 3, 2015 NeedForSpeed Two decades after its inception, NFS (Need For Speed) franchise is getting a reboot. Eletronic Arts seems determined to milk its cash cow dry after all. NFS is game equivalent of Fast & Furious movies: trashy story and good visuals. In the upcoming game, EA has almost achieved photorealism with its Frostbite 3 engine. The much loved customisation feature has got even better. The only concern here is the mandatory Internet connection to play this game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Release Date: November 6, 2015 CallOfDuty If you are looking for a “masala” game, there’s nothing better than the recent Call of Duty games. This FPS (First Person Shooter) franchise is so good at delivering over-the-top action that you just cannot avoid it. Especially, the Black Ops series has always been so explosive that Michael “VFX” Bay would approve it. Since the upcoming game is set in dystopian future (2065 to be precise), expect fancy guns, smart grenades, super-soldiers, drones, and exosuits borrowed from the movie Elysium.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Release Date: November 10, 2015 RiseoftheTombRaider Angelina Jolie’s movie aside, I’m sure most gamers would have fond memories of the Tomb Raider franchise. Released back in 1996, this TPS (Third Person Shooter) action adventure game has been hailed for its innovative gameplay, intriguing story, and strong female protagonist. Based on the recently released gameplay video, Lara seems to be ready to give Sony’s Nathan a run for its money. For those not in the know, the Rise of the Tomb Raider is a timed Xbox exclusive. It may eventually land on PS4, but not before Q4, 2016.

Hitman Release Date: March, 2016 Hitman If as a teenager you wanted to be a contract killer, but the harsh world turned you into a banker, this game is your chance to redeem that dream. Hitman franchise revolves around Agent 47, a freelance assassin with perfect record. The game offers multiple ways to finish a mission. A player can either go all guns blazing or eliminate the target without firing a single bullet. The latter approach offers better rewards. The upcoming game is set to release next year, will have bigger maps, around 300 NPC (Non Playable Character), and a variety of weapons and pick-ups.

Star Wars: Battlefront Release Date: November 17, 2015 StarWars Star Wars fan or not, this game is on the radar of every trigger happy gamer. This shooter lets you toggle between third and first person view. Electronic Art’s Frostbite 3 engine renders amazing visuals. Especially, the detailed destructible environment is impressive. Players can choose between Rebel Alliance and an Imperial army. Star Wars: Battlefront focuses on cooperative mode. Although it can be played offline using bots, there’s no proper campaign mode.

Fallout 4 Release Date: November 10, 2015 Fallout4 Welcome to the future, where the civilisation has ended in nuclear holocaust. Bethesta’s RPG (Role Playing Game) offers action TPS and FPS mode. The gameplay revolves around looting resources and weapons in a vast map. There’s a companion dog that helps the protagonist on his missions. Players can modify their armour or weapons by utilising available stuff. In short, it is very much like the Mad Max universe. Coming to the subject of enemies, everything from a radioactive mosquito to monsters are out to kill you.
