Details of the multiplayer component of Naughty Dog’s upcoming game – The Last of Us – have been leaked, and while everyone was originally dreading that it would be a typical deathmatch-fest, it actually seems to be a pretty interesting take on the survival genre. According to the leak, as posted on the Gamespot Forums , the premise of the multiplayer for The Last of Us involves the player siding with a group of humans from the single player campaign. The gameplay itself revolves around surviving in an area that is crawling with enemies. Emphasis seems to be on stealth rather than just running-and-gunning everything down.

You can pick from one of four pre-made loadouts, or you can make a custom loadout. The pre-made loadouts include assault, sniper, support and stealth. Each loadout has a small and a large weapon. For example, the stealth class is equipped with a silenced 9mm pistol and a bow. There are also other abilities, such as Covert Training 2, which lets you crouch-walk without showing up on an opponent’s Listen Mode tracking.

For the first time, studio Naughty Dog will be making story-based DLC instead of its usual skins and maps for multiplayer. “The journey and cast of characters in The Last of Us lends itself to thorough narrative exploration and we’ve got more of the story to tell,” says the blog post. Those who pre-order the Season Pass will get some bonuses for the game on day one. This includes increased crafting speed, increased healing speed, 9mm reload speed upgrade, rifle clip capacity upgrade and Grounded.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
