Honor, Huawei’s online subsidiary brand, is expected to give a preview of a new smartphone in India today. While the handset won’t be officially launched today, we will however get to see the device and hopefully get an idea as to when exactly the company plans to launch it in the market. A quick update on the smartphone itself, it is teased to have a dual-camera setup and points to the Honor 6x which is an update for the Honor 5x . It could be the recently announced Honor Magic, but considering it to be very recent announcement, we have our bets on the Honor 6x. The Chinese version of the Honor 6x features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 655 CPU. At the time of its launch, it was announced in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB storage, hopefully it will arrive with 4GB RAM in India. The smartphone offers a 12MP dual-camera setup on the back with 6P lens and phase detection autofocus system. Other features include DTS Audio, a fingerprint sensor, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, an 8MP front camera, and a 3,340mAh battery. In the connectivity department you get LTE, dual-SIM card slots, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 and a microUSB port. We can expect the Indian version of the phone to have the same features. As we mentioned earlier, the smartphone is already selling in China so we have a certain idea about the pricing. The 32GB variant with 3GB RAM was launched at CNY 999 (Rs 9,900), 32GB variant with 4GB RAM at CNY 1299 (Rs 12,900) while the 64GB model with 4GB RAM was announced at CNY 1599 (Rs 15,900). If indeed it is the Honor 6x, Honor will have to price it well so it could compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 , Moto G4 Plus and the LeEco Le2 . Stay tuned as we will be bringing all the updates from the Honor showcase event later today.
