We were doing our weekly review and inventory wrap up just yesterday, and found out the amazing number of TVs and Display technologies that keep releasing, coming in,and how things gradually change for the better in terms of quality, features, technology etc. This is true of course for everything tech, but HDTVs and video entertainment is what tickles our nerves currently, so we did a little reading and crystal gazing to see what might be in store for us in the not so distant future. Here are 3 seemingly nice future technologies that we might see in our HDTVs.
OLED TV
OLEDs, of course has to be the first name on any list, that talks about anything to do with new TV screen panels. They are already there in small size MP3 player screens and the like, and only the highly priced Sony XEL-1 11" TV OLED TV is available. OLED stands for Organic Light Emitting Diodes, thus we have carbon based substances that emit visible light when a current passes through them. It’s actually made up of very thin materials, onto which voltage is applied on the outermost cathode and anode, which in turn excites the organic material in between. Colors are achieved by physically different organic molecules, that give out that particular wavelength of light when their electrons are excited. Thus as consumers what we get? Brighter pictures, sharper motion and very good, accurate colors.
