The Darkness was a dark and brutal first person shooter based on the Top Cow comic of the same name where players stepped into the boots of Jackie Estacado, a wise guy who inherits supernatural powers on his 21st birthday. The game was a tad rough around the edges, but it was a highly satisfying romp through Top Cow’s twisted universe.

With The Darkness II, the reigns of development have passed over to Digital Extremes (Dark Sector), who’ve decided to add a bit of co-operative fun into the mix. This co-op mode is called Vendettas and will allow four players, each with distinct abilities to tackle a bunch of standalone missions that are supposedly, drastically different from the campaign. According to Kotaku , you can play as one of four characters – Inugami (a Japanese fighter), Shoshanna, (a former member of the Israeli Intelligence Agency), Jimmy Wilson (a man with a hunger for alcohol) and Doctor J. P. DuMond (vodoo doctor extraordinaire).
I’m not sure how good or bad this mode will be, but you can rarely go wrong with co-op, so bring it on I say. The Darkness II releases for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC by the 10th of February, 2012.
Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
