 "The Darkness II demo coming next week")
The Darkness was a highly underrated shooter from Starbreeze Studios that put players in the boots of Jackie Estacado, a young, upcoming mobster who happens to inherit demonic powers on his 21st birthday. The game may have been a tad rough around the edges, but it was brutal and entertaining in equal measure breaking free of the traditional military shooter norms governing the genre.

Now the reigns of development have passed on over to Digital Extremes (Dark Sector) and while the game is nearly a month away from release, 2K games have decided to let players sample the chaos with a single player demo that will be available next week. The demo will first be available to gold Xbox Live subscribers by the 17th of January after which it will be available on the 24th for XBL users (silver membership), PSN and Steam.
The game itself will hit stands by the 10th of February, 2012 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.
Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
