So far, there have been plenty of rumours about Apple's upcoming flagship. No we are not talking about the iPhone 7s or the iPhone 7s Plus, but the exotic iPhone 8 or X that all eyes will be on at launch in September. While its most interesting features apart from its bezel-less display is expected to be its invisible fingerprint reader (that is reportedly hidden below the display) we now also know of a new rumour that hints at an invisible front-facing camera.
Xiaomi Mi Mix got away with its own version of a bezel-less display by including a tiny chin at the bottom (that features the front facing camera and other sensors) and a piezoelectric speaker at the top.
If the rumours about its truly bezel-less device are true, Apple needs plenty of work-arounds and innovations to make this exotic smartphone truly exotic. And according to the latest rumour there is something new that is also expected to arrive with the iPhone X, an invisible camera.
Xiaomi pulled off an invisible speaker using a piezo electric module and now a Foxconn employee has told iDrop News that while Apple decides between an invisible fingerprint reader and one on the back, a prototype device also has an invisible front-facing camera that sits under the display.
The idea sounds pretty cool, but we aren't sure what the word 'invisible' refers to out here. Apple could either club the front camera together with front-facing receiver speaker, or simply go with a piezoelectric speaker along with what would be a rather innovative front facing camera that should hide below the display.
