Temple Run took the Android world by storm and now, Imangi, the makers of the original have teamed up with Disney for a special edition of the games, called Temple Run : Brave. The setting and character is based on the Disney - Pixar movie, Brave. You take control of Merida, the main protagonist - helping her run, slide, jump, turn and shoot your way across the wilds of Scotland. The app is now available on the Play store for Rs. 55. If you loved the original Temple Run, this version should add some variety to the gameplay.
All new challenges
Imangi have added some new features to the game to make it more interesting. Instead of just swiping up, down, left and right, you can now shoot targets for bonus points with your bow and arrow. You simply tap the targets to shoot a bulls eye and earn extra points. Instead of the gloomy swamp backdrop in the original, gamers are now treated to a visually stunning forest with added effects, like sun rays and foliage. There are different types of environments as well, all inspired by the movie.
The size of the app is 32 MB and is compatible with most handsets with Android 2.1 and above. There does seem to be performance issues with the Galaxy Nexus, as a couple of users are reporting slowdowns and lag during gameplay. Hopefully an update should fix this. When Temple Run first launched on Android, there were a few bugs as well like the game would crash after a few retries. This happened on phones running Ice Cream Sandwich, but was later fixed in an update. If you download the game now, you also get a bonus 2500 coins that can be used for power ups and leveling up your character.
