Tegra 3 powered LG X3 shatters Quadrant benchmark!

The only other quad-core phone expected, other than the HTC Edge, is LG’s X3 which we had a sneak peak of back in January. More information has now surfaced about this Tegra 3 powered handset in the form of a leaked Quadrant benchmark. Quadrant was recently updated to take advantage of multi-core devices and in this, the Tegra 3 really gets to stretch its legs by scoring a whopping 4412 points, almost double of what the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Nexus scored. Of course, we can expect other Tegra 3 phones and tablets to offer similar performance.

Looking at the other two screenshots, we can see that the phone will launch with Android 4.0 which is good. Another new addition to the settings menu is a ‘Gestures’ option. From the symbol, it appears to be some sort of a hand-tracking feature using the front facing camera so you move your hand from left to right just over the camera to switch screens, change music, etc. The specifications haven’t changed from what we reported back in January as the source close to android.modaco.com confirmed they are correct. It’s a good thing that LG is shipping the phone with ICS and that they didn’t make any major cosmetic changes as ICS by itself is beautifully executed. The same can’t be said for Samsung and HTC though, or even Sony Ericsson for that matter. In case you missed it the first time, here’s a quick recap of the specifications for the LG X3:
