China-based Transsion Holdings launched a brand new smartphone in India called the Camon I. The Tecno Camon I is basically a rebranded Camon CM smartphone, which was launched in Nigeria a few days ago and features budget specifications at a budget price tag of Rs 8,999.
The Tecno Camon I features a rounded design, one that is very similar to the stuff we have seen from other Chinese smartphone brands in the past. The new smartphone features a metal unibody design and features a rounded corners with a 2.5D curved edge Gorilla Glass 3 screen on the front, protecting the 5.7-inch, 18:9 aspect, HD+ (1,440x720 pixels) ratio LCD display below it.
The device measures 152.2 mm x 71.7 mm x 7.75 mm and weighs in a 134 gms.
Inside, the Camon I packs in a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage with an separate slot for microSD card expansion.
The camera options include a 13 MP unit (f/2.0 aperture) on front and a similar 13 MP sensor on the rear. Both cameras feature an LED flash module, with the rear camera offering a quad-LED flash system.
Connectivity options onboard the Tecno Camon I include a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and support for 4G LTE radios on a dual SIM slot setup.
The device is powered by a 3,050 mAh battery and comes with Android 7.0 with the company's HiOS custom skin to keep things refreshed.
The Tecno Mobile Camon I will be available in Champagne Gold, Midnight Black and City Blue and will compete with entry-level to budget segment offerings like the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Amazon's 10.or smartphone range.
