TabletKiosk has expanded its Tablet PC range with the TufTab v7112XT that is essentially a UMPC and features Microsoft’s Touch Pack. With regards to the operating system, one can choose from Windows Vista Business, Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 and openSUSE Linux.
These UMPCs are termed as ‘semi-rugged’ and are resistant to dust, rain, high humidity and can withstand extreme shock and prolonged vibration.
The TufTab v7112XT is powered by a 1.2 GHz VIA C7-M ULV processor with a 400 MHz FSB and comes with a 7-inch touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels. Other features include a 1.8-inch 40GB hard drive, 1GB DDR2 RAM, Winbond 802.11b/g, 10/100 NIC, rechargeable 4-cell 26W Lithium-Ion Battery pack (2400mAh) that lasts around 3 to 4 hours, one onboard USB 2.0 connector and a fingerprint sensor.
The TufTab v7112XT weighs 800 grams and measures 8.11" x 5.32" x 1.14". It’s available in black or white and will sell at a price tag of $1,699 by April this year.
