It’s not a secret that Twitter for Android tablets isn’t the best looking app just yet. That, however, could change soon as Twitter for tablets seems to be in for a cosmetic makeover.

At the IFA 2013 event in Berlin, a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was spotted running the revamped Twitter app for tablets, during the Unpacked Episode 2 event. However, mum seems to be the word as far as when the redesigned version will go public.

The guys at AndroidNext, though, were able to get the app’s new APK. The update seems to look exactly like Twitter for iPad and shows off the dual-column layout that looks just a teeny-bit cramped. Since the APK is out in the wild and you can download it and install it on your devices. There are, however, a few things that you should keep in mind– you might have to clear data if it installs itself over the existing Twitter app.

Android Police also points out that the app does well for 10-inch tablets but 7-inch tablets might show the app to be a little wonky. Clearly, there’s a long way to go as far as improving the layout to serve all tablet sizes. The official app cannot be too far behind now, though, so our advice is to wait for its launch.
