If you own a Nokia phone (one of the high-end ones obviously) and have been waiting to make internet calls like other smartphone users, Skype has come to your rescue - according to GSMArena .

Calling on the internet becomes a breeze
After quite some waiting time, Skype has finally launched their app for Symbian^3 users. Skype allows you to make internet calls over 3G or Wi-Fi with support for Skype-to-Skype and SkypeOut calls. The SILK codec allows it to adapt to changing network conditions and provides reportedly better audio quality. Skype is available for the Nokia N8 , C7 and C6-01 handsets and you can download the apps from their site .

Better video rendering for Symbian^3 users
The YouTube app already existed for Symbian^3 phones, but the version 2.4.10 update has improvement in the visual department, making it better suited for bigger screens. Also, the transition between two screens is a lot faster. The source also tells us that video resolution has been increased, but it’s not confirmed by Google. This app is available for download on this site .
There’s something for Symbain^1 users too, they can upgrade their Skype and try out the SILK codec. If you’ve done an update, please tell us about your experience in the comments section below.
