The rumoured **Swatch** Touch has been doing rounds for quite some time now. Speculated to be one of the biggest competitors to the upcoming Apple Watch, Swatch has unveiled its new Touch Zero One smartwatch just ahead of **Apple's March 9 event** . The Touch Zero One sports a curved screen with built-in backlight, and gets the finger-tap and side-swipe control seen in Swatch watches. Just like most watches, it comes with sports and fitness tracking, especially Beach Volleyball. It should be noted that Swatch happens to be the sponsor of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. The watch lets you set fitness goals using a virtual coach. It will communicate with your smartphone using the new Touch Zero One app, presumably it will work with both Android as well as iOS. The details about the Swatch Touch Zero watch are still scanty. According to ablogtowatch, the functions will include a ‘hit counter’ that counts the amount of times the player has hit the ball during the game and will be able to differentiate four different hits such as attack hits, low hits, high hits and high fives. The Power Hit counter will be capable of measuring the strength of the hit and rate the player on a scale from 0 to 100. It also includes step and activity-time counter and a clap counter. Gathering all the data, it will finally calculate the number of calories burnt. It tracks the wearer’s progress by displaying all the data in the form of graph over the course of the day and even months. “You may have noticed what might just be the icing on the cake: on the display of the watch there is an image of an ice cream that is actually growing (with an ever larger portion being lit up) as progress in the workout is made, acting as some sort of a motivation system,” adds the report. Swatch also claims to have employed a battery that will last for months. The use of NFC to connect to devices and limited functions could possibly help the smartwatch achieve this. There is no word on whether it will show other notifications from your smartphone, and could primarily be a fitness tracker. It is expected to be priced at $159 (approx Rs 9,800).
