Steve Jobs' emails reveal his plans for Apple TV and the Holy War with Google over Android

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple was a man with a vision and on a mission. His email correspondence with one of his company executives, Phil Schiller, confirms this according to The Verge.   Almost a year before his demise, Jobs’ email correspondences with this executive clearly showed what Jobs held as priorities. The email is a gold mine of information about how much Jobs wanted to outdo rivals like Google, his plans for the iPhone and also for Apple TV   Jobs wanted to change the way TV was being used by people. He wanted Apple TV to become an inseparable part of your living room. The email mentions something called Apple TV 2. He mentions something called the magic wand, but that’s a total mystery as far as Apple is concerned. He also touched upon aspects of subscriptions and apps for the platform.   Unsurprisingly, Apple’s co-founder also takes a grand shot at iOS rival Android. In fact his annoyance with the search giant is to such an extent that he has termed the mobile competition as “Holy War with Google”. Jobs was concerned about Google’s dominance in the cloud domain as well, and spoke of the need to bolster iCloud, something Apple has done with the iWorks integration.   The mail also shows that iPhone 4S was in the planning stage as early as 2010. It is referred to as “plus” iPhone4S in the mail. He also touches upon iPhone 5 hardware issues. Jobs also wanted Apple to compete, win and leapfrog Google.   The new revelations have come from the tide of testimony and evidence presented during the ongoing Samsung-Apple patent battle. Just the other day Samsung produced one of Apple’s internal documents that showed Apple’s fear of losing market share to its rivals making Android phones.
