It looks like one of the best FPSes of the year so far is getting ported to Linux. A listing on SteamDB, spotted by NeoGAF member gngf123, shows a Linux version of the highly atmospheric FPS Metro: Last Light. A few lines in the game's change history show references to a Linux version. The database entry seems to have last been edited around 8 hours ago, at the time of publishing.
Last month, Metro: Last Light got its first major DLC in the form of the Faction Pack. It is currently unknown whether the Linux version of the game will be getting the DLC as well.
Coming soon to Linux
The Faction Pack includes three original single-player missions, each casting the player as a different specialist from the warring Factions. Returning to some classic locations from Metro 2033, these missions feature new weapons and the return of a terrifying mutant foe. Players will get to play a special Detachment Sniper of the Redline, a Reich Heavy and a Polis Ranger in training. Each of these characters will have their own varied level designs and mechanics.
As the Sniper, players must infiltrate a heavily guarded Reich outpost at night under the cover of a deadly radioactive storm. The Heavy will be armed with some of the most devastating munitions found in the game. Ranger in training is tasked with exploring the Library complex for artifacts and relics. Salvage can be exchanged for ammunition, mask filters and hazard suits, which will allow deeper exploration into the complex.
