Square-shaped Blackberry Passport QWERTY smartphone coming in September

The rumoured BlackBerry ‘Windermere’ is all set to be launched as the Blackberry ‘Passport’, the company confirmed in its Q1 earnings annual meet.  This wide device has grabbed the name due to its passport-shaped form factor.   Besides, the company also confirms that the device will be unveiled in September bat an event to be held in London. Specs-wise, not much is known about the device. For now, its unique form factor seems to be the highlight of the device.  The Passport sports a square-shaped display and a physical QWERTY keyboard to go along with it.   This further confirms the reports last month that BlackBerry is working on a square phone. In its developer listing , the company had encouraged devs working in its BlackBerry 10.3 beta simulator to experiment with a new square shape and resolution. The developer is said to be working on two new devices - a 4.5-inch high-resolution (1440x1440 pixel) smartphone and the Blackberry Classic.   Recently, several photos of the BlackBerry C-Series have  surfaced online .  According to VNExpress,  the new C-series smartphone specs sheet will include a 4.5-inch display, 1.5 GB of RAM, a 2100 mAh battery, NFC and is expected to run BlackBerry 10.2.1. [caption id=“attachment_226194” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] Image: VNExpress[/caption]   While there is no word on region-specific launch of the Passport, latest rumours suggest that the BlackBerry Z3 will be launching in India on June 25. It is a mid-range handset, featuring a 5-inch full touch display with a 540×960 resolution and running the latest version of BlackBerry 10 OS. Another report highlights that BBM will be coming to Windows Phone in July.   The BlackBerry Z3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC which has a dual-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM.
