Specifications of Nvidia's GeForce GTX 660 Ti leaked

The main specifications of Nvidia’s upcoming graphics card, the mid ranged GeForce GTX 660 Ti have been leaked according to a report by Sweclockers . The card seems to be based off the GK104 GPU.

The Geforce GTX 660 Ti aims to be a mid-range graphics card that has 1344 CUDA cores, 96 texture and 24 raster operating units. The card will be clocked at the same speed as the GTX 670 – 915 MHz, 980 MHz GPU boost and 6.00 GHz GDDR5-effective memory. The memory will be clocked at 1502 MHz.

The main difference between the two cards is the interface. The GTX 660 Ti has 192-bit bus width and the same amount of memory as the GTX 670 – 2048 MB. The smaller bus width results in 25% lower memory bandwidth. The 2 GB of memory is spread across the 192-bit memory bus, probably using four chips that use 32-bit wide paths each, with four other chips sharing two paths of 32-bit width.

The reference model for the GTX 660 Ti is equipped with a cooler that takes up an expansion slot, video outputs – two DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort, and is powered via two 6-pin PCI Express connectors. Partner manufacturers however are free to develop their own models, with other types of coolers, higher clock speeds and more memory.

Soon releasing the GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Here is the table of the specs of the GTX 660 Ti according to Sweclockers:

  • Architecture: Kepler
  • Technology: 28nm
  • GPU: GK104
  • CUDA cores: 1344
  • Base frequency: 915 MHz
  • Boost frequency: 980 MHz
  • Memory Bus: 192-bit
  • Amount of memory: 2GB GDDR5
  • Memory frequency: 6008 MHz
  • Power required: 150 Watts

The GeForce GTX 660 Ti is set to launch on August 16 this year, and is expected to cost roughly Rs. 24,000. According to Sweclockers, the availability of the graphics card will be relatively good.

Nvidia had launched the GeForce GTX 670 earlier this year, which was engineered to be a more affordable GPU than Nvidia’s top-of-the-line GTX 680. The GTX 670 comes with 1344 CUDA cores and a clock speed of 915 MHz with the GPU Boost frequency set to 980 MHz. The GPU comes with 2 GB of GDDR5 memory running at 6 Gbps. The TDP of the GTX 670 stands at 170 watts. Just like the GTX 680, the GTX 670 also supports 3DVision Surround. The card supports four-way SLI, along with other features that come with the SMX architecture.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
