Sony has released a new 30-second teaser video for the Xperia Z1, earlier known as Honami . The video appears to be a combination of teaser images stating that “The best of Sony is about to get better”, but doesn’t really reveal any new detail about the device.
The company has slated the the launch of the Xperia Z1 for September 4, and it is probable that Sony wants to create some hype around the device. It should be noted that the Xperia Z1 will be launched on the same day that Samsung plans to offically show off its Galaxy Note 3. You can have a look at Sony’s Xperia Z1 video below:
The video shows pictures of the smartphone from all angles, and prominently shows the power key, G-Lens and so on. The video focuses on the waterproof feature of the Xperia Z1. Though nothing else has been revealed in the video, the blanks regarding the Z1 have more or less been filled by rumours.
Expected to sport a 5-inch full HD display, the smartphone will come with a 20-megapixel rear camera as well as a 2-megapixel front shooter. There has also been alot of speculation around the 4k recording abilities of the Xperia Z1. It should be noted that the latest rumour around the Galaxy Note 3 also hints at 4k video recording . The Xperia Z1 rounds up the expected features with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 800 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz and 2GB of RAM.
Digi-wo had published a few mock-ups of the Honami alongside the Xperia Z and the Xperia Z Ultra. From what can be seen from the same, it looks like the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z come with similar exteriors. An earlier report indicated, however, that a major point of difference between the two in terms of the exterior is the metal frame running around the periphery of the Xperia Z1.
It is also believed that the Z1 will be available in three colour variants - black, white and purple. With the September 4 launch date drawing closer, smartphone enthusiasts will not have to wait too long for an official look at the Sony Xperia Z1.
