Sony Xperia X now available on Flipkart; priced at Rs 24,990 in India

Sony launched its flagship smartphone, the Xperia X , last year in India in June along with the Xperia XA. The handset has got a massive price cut as it is currently available for Rs 24,990 on e-commerce portal Flipkart. While it wasn’t a competetive smartphone, it received a discount of Rs 10,000 just after a couple of month of its launch. Dropping from its original price of Rs 48,990 to Rs 38,990, this is the second price drop for the smartphone. In case you are curious, the Xperia X features a 5-inch 1080p IPS display which has a curved 2.5D protected glass on top with Sony’s Bravia engine technology to make the display look more rich. The cameras include a 23MP rear unit with a 1/2.3-inch sensor and a fast predictive hybrid focusing system with some performance tweaks that enable it to go from stand-by to capturing an image in about 0.61 seconds. On the front there is a 13MP selfie camera that is claimed to offer better selfies, even in low light. Powering the handset is a Snapdragon 650 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Other features include a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button on the right edge, a dual-hybrid SIM card slot, 4G LTE and stereo speakers with high-res audio output. Sony has used a 2,620mAh battery along with Quick Charge technology, smart battery management system as well as the company’s own Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology which helps in maintaining the overall lifespan of the battery. To be very honest, the price is still quite high for a smartphone with such hardware. The LeEco Le 2 , which is priced at Rs 11,999 comes with a Snapdragon 652 SoC and for just Rs 17,499 you can get the Lenovo Z2 Plus which has a flagship Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
