Sony has unveiled the new 10-inch super thin, super light tablet called Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC. The company’s new high end tablet is a successor to the Xperia Z2 Tablet. This tablet can be ragarded as the first “iPad Air competitor” from Sony. Let’s have a look at the key specs.

Sony has unveiled a new 10-inch super thin, super light tablet called Xperia Z4 Tablet at MWC. The company’s new high end tablet is a successor to the Xperia Z2 Tablet. This tablet can be regarded as the first “iPad Air competitor” from Sony. Let’s have a look at the key specs.

The new Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet comes with a 10.1 inch IPS display with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, which has a 300 ppi pixel density. The display used in this device is Sony’s Triluminos technology along with a X-Reality Mobile engine. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 chipset along with an an octa-core 64-bit processor with four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores working at 1.5GHz. It is paired with 3GB RAM. It comes with Adreno 430 GPU. In other features, the Xperia Z4 tablet runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and Sony has added in their own skin on top. It sports a 8MP rear Sony ExmorRS camera and a 5MP wide-angle front facing camera. The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery and the company claims that it will last 17 hours on video playback. The device has an in-built storage of 32GB and can be further expanded via microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the device includes WiFi, 2G/3G /4G LTE SKU,  Bluetooth 4.1, USB2.0, GPS/GNSS and NFC. The company has also added in keyboard dock that turns the Z4 into a mini-laptop. It can be paired over with Bluetooth and looks neat and simple. Sony has also added in Microsoft’s Android Office suite. Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is IP68-certified, which translates in to a dust-tight shell and waterproof design with endurance for up to 30 minutes into 1.5m deep fresh water. The device measures 6.1mm and weighs 389g. The LTE and Wi-Fi models of Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet will be available worldwide in June this year but the pricing is not announced.
