Hot on the heels of their TZ range refresh, Sony has launched new models in their Vaio –FZ range built on the Santa Rosa platform.

In keeping with the HD-media theme of the FZ range, these new laptops pack in a Blu-ray recorder, HDMI output and back-lit LCDs which are powered by Sony’s patented Brava Backlit Technology. For graphics the VAIO FZ-Series uses the NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT notebook graphics processing unit (GPU), which offers 3D imaging and hardware HD decoding capable of very high bit rate playback.
A standard specification includes the Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor, 2GB memory, 15.4-inch widescreen X-black LCD, up to 200 GB hard of storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Windows Vista Home Premium, all packed into a case constructed of magnesium alloy.
