Sony had apologized earlier for the loss of credit card information and the downtime on the PlayStation. It had offered a couple of freebies as part of compensation to its users. The Welcome Back Program was part of this.

Offer limited till 3rd July 2011!

Today, the Welcome Back Program was finally enabled, which allows gamers to use a 30-day of trial of PlayStation Plus and also the option to download two of five games for free. The five games being made available for download are Dead Nation, inFAMOUS, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD + Fury. PSP users too get two games to choose out of LittleBigPlanet (PSP), ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation. To get access to the PS3 games, head over to the PlayStation Store and access the Welcome Back Program option. The offer is only for those users who created their accounts before the 20th of April, 2011 and will be online only till the 3rd of July, 2011. The games won’t be disabled. Whle the PlayStation Plus only gives you exclusive content, it’s the discounts on existing games that is bound to interest gamers everywhere. The service is being accessed all over the world and we noticed an instance or two where the Welcome Back program page wasn’t accessible on the PS3.
