Sony LT30p "Mint" may be named Sony Xperia T

The next phone in Sony’s lineup has been so far known as the Sony LT30p “Mint”. The phone looks to be quite a killer device, with specs better than the Xperia S and the Ion. The Mint, interestingly, has on-screen buttons with Ice Cream Sandwich OS. This would be a first for a Sony phone.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the website of the DLNA lists the Sony LT30p Mint as the Sony Xperia T, which makes it a member of the single letter Xperia family. The DLNA page for the phone doesn’t give much information other than the name, and the fact that the phone will be DLNA-certified.

More information on the phone might be available on August 29, when Sony holds an event just before IFA starts. It is very likely that Sony will announce the Sony LT30p Mint at the event.

  • Android version 4.0.4 – Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 4.3-inch touch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280, with a pixel density of 342 ppi

The phone runs on a dual core 1.5GHz Krait processor, and the graphics are powered by an Adrena 225 GPU.

Another source of speculation in recent times has been the an upcoming Sony tablet, because of some leaked images and specs. The Sony Xperia Tablet follows the design of its predecessor – the Sony Tablet S – and features a folded magazine design. According to reports, the Sony Xperia Tablet will feature a Tegra 3 processor, come with storage capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or later. Apart from this, the device will feature 3G connectivity and feature a 6000mAh battery, which Sony states will be capable of lasting 10 hours while browsing the Internet using Wi-Fi. This tablet will measure 8.8 mm at its thinnest and Sony claims that the slim, splash-proof body allows the tablet to look and work great.

Although nothing is set in stone, the 16GB model is priced at $449.99, the 32GB variant costs $549.99 and the 64GB version is expected to be sold for $649.99. Apart from the features and the pricing, there are also prices for various accessories that go with the tablet. There is a cover that will be available for $59.99; a premium cover that will come in multiple colours costing $79.99; a stand for docking the tablet will be selling for $99.99; a simple stand will cost $24.99; and a dock speaker that will be sold for $119.99.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
