Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Launches in India

Although, it’s unofficial for now, the Xperia Pro has hit Indian shores.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Launches in India

This comes as a surprise but it looks like Sony Ericsson has launched the Xperia Pro in India. BlackFridayDeals says that the smartphone has been released in India although there’s still an official confirmation from Sony Ericsson. Nevertheless, we still think it’s important for our readers to know about it, so let’s take a look at the Xperia Pro.

BRAVIA Engine and some neat features…

The smartphone runs on Android Gingerbread with Sony Ericsson’s Timescape User Interface running over it. The handset is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor and has a scratch-resistant display with Sony’s BRAVIA engine. It has a QWERTY keyboard slider below the touchscreen and has the following specifications:

  • 3.7-inch LED-Backlit touchscreen with 480 x 854 pixels resolution
  • 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, DLNA
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
  • 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED Flash
  • VGA Secondary camera
  • HDMI Port
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • Stereo FM Radio with RDS
  • Internal Memory of 1 GB, expandable to 32 GB

The Xperia Pro’s camera has features for touch focus, geo-tagging and it also has face and smile recognition. The camera can also record 720p videos at 30fps which is a nice feature.

All this being said, the Xperia Pro’s pricing has not been mentioned anywhere. We still cannot confirm whether it has touched Indian shores, since there’s no official confirmation, yet. Watch this space for more updates.
