Sony Ericsson has announced the official launch of the latest entrants in their Xperia series of smartphones, the Xperia neo V and the Xperia Pro. The Xperia Pro continues the trend of the earlier ‘Pro’ versions of the smartphone i.e. the Xperia Mini Pro and the X10 Mini Pro and has a slider keyboard but the major change is the screen size that will be a massive 3.7-inch with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and has an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash. The camera supports HD recording as well. Sony Ericsson has also bundled in a VGA front camera for video calling and self portraits.
The Xperia Pro

The neo V on the other hand, has a 1GHz processor and a 5 megapixel rear camera. The front camera will be a VGA one. Both phones will run on Google’s 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

Sony Ericsson has also collaborated with Bharti Airtel to offer customers with 500 MB/month of free 3G/2G data usage for the first three months and free Mobile TV for 200 minutes or 2 months, whichever is earlier. The Xperia neo V is priced at Rs. 18,500 and the Xperia Pro is priced at Rs. 23,990.
