One of the much-touted features in the upcoming Battlefield 4 is the Battlescreen, which essentially lets you use a tablet as an interactive minimap. However, it seems that the Battlescreen won’t be available on every platform the game is launching on. According to Engadget , the Battlescreen will only work with PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The current-gen PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 won’t be getting the feature.

This is mostly because the new version of the Battlelog for Battlefield 4 will be entirely web-based. While this is great news for PC and the next-gen consoles, the current-gen systems won’t be able to support the Battlescreen. “Battlelog is powered by the web, and that has a lot of implications. There are a lot of different things you can do, things you can do faster, rather than building stuff in native code,” Battlelog Assistant Producer Jesper Nielsen told Engadget.

Earlier, DICE had released a video that showcased some of the new features of the Battlelog . There are a number of new features in the new Battlelog, however, the quality of these features is disputable at best. These features range from the completely inane, such as being able to set up your loadout on a smartphone when you aren’t even home, to some potentially useful and fun ones, such as using a tablet as a second screen that shows the minimap, or setting up challenges between you and your friends.

The developers explained that the Battlelog isn’t just a feature for PC gamers anymore; it will be everywhere. There will be a Battlelog on the console versions of the game, as well as apps for smartphones and tablets that will let players do everything one can do in the Battlelog.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
