Snapdeal has started the third wave of deals in its Unbox Diwali sale. The first round was from 2 to 6 October, and the second was held between 12 to 14 October. The third promotional event in the sequence will be between 19 to 21 October, to coincide with a surge in festival shopping activity.
The sale will see deals across many product categories, including appliances, consumer electronics and apparel. Users of HDFC credit or debit cards get an instant 10 percent off on their purchases. There is also a no cost EMI and zero down payment option from Bajaj Finserv. There are new deals posted every hour, with separate landing pages for apparel, furniture and electronics. The 'Deal of the Day' page has a few featured 'Super Deals of the Day' and many Deals of the Day.
There are up to 70 per cent off on mobile phones, electronics, home appliances and apparel. Kitchen, furniture and home decor categories have an additional 20 per cent off on purchases of over Rs 2,999.
There are up to 19 percent discounts on Sony Bravia HD smart televisions. The Lenovo Ideapad laptops in the mid range have discounts in the range of 10 percent.
For mobile phones, there is a no-cost EMI option, as well as an exchange offer that gives users up to Rs 20,000 for their old devices.
The Apple iPhone 7 128 GB Jet Black edition is available for Rs 70,000. The matte black finish is out of stock though. The Rose Gold LeEco Le Max 2 is available for Rs 17,999 at a 22 percent discount from a regular listing price of 22,999. The Moto G Turbo edition is available for Rs 9,999 as against a regular price of Rs 14,999.
There is also a curated store puja related products. There are two parts of the store, for lighting and for performing the worship rituals. Diyas, candles, Diwali lights, LED lights, lamps, extension cords and tools to fix lights are on offer in the lighting section. The Puja section has accessories including idols, bells, stands, plates and books. There is a section for the ingredients needed for prasad preparation as well.
"After the overwhelming response to our previous Unbox Diwali sales, we bring our customers bigger offers on products they’ve been waiting to buy this festive season," Saurabh Bansal, vice president and head, Category Management said, "Customers have loved the additional discounts on card-based payments and we are excited to spread more festive cheer with instant discounts on the use of HDFC Bank cards."
There is a group buying feature implemented as well. Users can register in groups of five to ten people, and avail an additional 6 per cent off over the discounts on purchases worth Rs 60,000 or more. In the first round, Snapdeal claims to have sold over two hundred smartphones every minute.
