According to a report by TheVerge , just  hours before the World Cup that saw Germany beat Argentina, all Snapchat users could access the “Our Story” feature that is ‘a collection of curated Snaps from users in Brazil’. While the Electric Daisy Carnival saw roughly 14,000 people, this time Snapchat experiment was carried using a larger number of audiences.

The feature allows  a continuous stream of photos, almost like watching a live stream. Snapchat is trying to create a newer way for people to enjoy live events, something different than what’ we’ve seen until now. " In a way, the masses of unknown faces allow you to live vicariously through World Cup visitors. However it makes you feel, it’s clearly a new way of viewing a live event that’s entirely discrete from both traditional media (like television) and other forms of social media like Twitter or Instagram," adds the report.

It is known that Snapchat’s approach is slightly different as it monitors what people are sharing. Now, it has confirmed to the news site that the new ‘feature is being controlled and curated.’ Moreover, representatives also disclosed that Snapchat did not promote My Story in Brazil and several users started using it themselves.
