Snapchat might soon receive a major upgrade. According to reports, many new features have been spotted for Snapchat’s mobile app, including audio and video calling, as well as stickers within Snapchat’s chat interface as well.

According to a report by TechCrunch , leaked screenshots show what’s dubbed Snapchat’s “ChatV2” interface via which users will be able to tap on new buttons on a bar to kick off an audio or video call. A pop up will appear on the recipient’s screen and they can decide if they wish to answer or decline the call.

If the rumours turn out true, then Snapchat could be a part of traditional messaging applications like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Google Hangouts and WeChat, which also offer similar functionality. The report points out that in addition to taking a step towards monetisation, rolling out stickers to Snapchat’s chat interface could make the app a better rival to the dominant mobile messaging applications today along with the new audio and video calling features.

As of now, no information has been shared regarding the rollout of these features. But they might appear in the same way when they do roll out to Snapchat’s wider user base.
