Snapchat seems to be continuously on the move to make rapid changes and improvements to their app. After partnering with media companies to bring **news and entertainment videos to their app** , Snapchat will now introduce their first in-app episodic video series. Trouble for Netflix? According to Hollywood Reporter, the web series called ‘Literally Can’t Even’ comes from writers Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn, the daughters of Steven Spielberg and John Goldwyn. The original series is coming to Snap Channel which is a part of the newly launched Discover within the app. The company hopes that this section would be an ideal source for ad revenue. The company claims that they are indeed following the model set by Netflix and others which aim or providing short media content. The report added that this is a move that sets Snapchat apart from other social apps like Vine, that have stayed out of the content game despite seeing a surge in creative content on their platform. On the other hand, YouTube funded a clip show called YouTube Nation that was produced by DreamWorks Animation and said it will begin funding original projects from some of its top creators. Snapchat wants to offer interesting content to it’s users giving the Discover Channel, an editorial point of view. The episodes will run under five minutes and will have a split screen to pack each shot with details from the scene. It would be rather interesting to watch how they will offer this experience to users as their main USP revolves around self-destructing images and videos, once viewed.
