Popular communications application Skype went down across the world today due to ‘an issue with the status settings,’ according to the company. The company went on to state that affected users will not be able to change their status, their contacts will all show as offline and they will be unable to start Skype calls to them. On the company’s  Heartbeat service, which updates the status of Skype connectivity, the company said, “We’re working on a fix for this issue and hope to have an update for you soon. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused while we get this resolved.” https://twitter.com/SkypeSupport/status/645881512928387072?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw According to  DownDetector, problems were first reported at 4:23 a.m. EDT on Sept. 21 and multiple users vented out via social media that the service is unavailable. https://twitter.com/ROCLASI/status/645882306163515392 https://twitter.com/chrisbolton/status/645882866975555584 https://twitter.com/heartprinced/status/645882840555589632 https://twitter.com/ashishkakkad8/status/645886450525822977 https://twitter.com/AhmedShakir_/status/645910429743624193 https://twitter.com/kernowjoe/status/645910263636598784 https://twitter.com/ge12ard/status/645910044849127425 https://twitter.com/JamesKieran/status/645909693907374080 https://twitter.com/bettyknee/status/645909651184316416 https://twitter.com/LaFibiola/status/645907926373244928 https://twitter.com/sidrasheikh_/status/645903851992670209 https://twitter.com/heartprinced/status/645882840555589632
