Microsoft has released a SkyDrive Pro mobile application for SharePoint Online users to get access to cloud storage. The app is available for Windows 8 and iOS devices.
For those not in the know, SkyDrive Pro is a cloud storage programme for employees that comes as a part of Office 365 or SharePoint Online. It enables each user to get an individual allocation of 7GB for personal site content that includes SkyDrive Pro library files, a recycle bin and any personal newsfeed information.
SkyDrive Pro has come to Windows 8
The newly released app for Windows 8 and iOS will enable SharePoint Online users to access, view and upload documents to the cloud from anywhere at all. If you use SharePoint Online for your business, you will be able to use SkyDrive Pro to view documents that are in your SkyDrive Pro folder and select specific content that you can put offline for times you’re travelling and have no access to the internet. You can also organise your content by adding new folders and uploading new content that can be shared with others from the app.
And for iOS
You will only need to sign in to your Office 365 account to be able to access, view and upload your documents, said Mark Kashman, Microsoft Senior Product Manager in a post announcing the launch of the app. You can grab hold of SkyDrive Pro for your Windows 8 devices from the Windows Store and for your iOS devices – running iOS 6 and up – from the App Store.
