SiS presents a full line of chipsets to meet customers’ requirements of different editions of Windows Vista. SiS chipsets, which have received certifications for Windows Vista Basic Edition, include SiS671FX, SiS671 and SiSM671MX chipsets for Intel desktop PC platform and SiSM671MX chipset for Intel laptop platform. Following the certification for Windows Vista Basic Edition, SiS unveiled its latest chipsets including SiS672FX, SiS672, and SiSM672MX, all of which even received certification for Windows Vista Premium Edition.
The SiS672FX and the SiS672 chipsets are designed for desktop PCs; on the other hand, the SiSM672MX chipset is designed for laptop PCs. The Mirage3+ graphics engine, combines Pixel Shader 2.0, Texture Pipelines, Texture Filtering and Cubic Mapping technologies. The SiS672FX and the SiS672 chipsets support Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Pentium D, Intel Pentium 4, and Intel Core 2 Quad processors. Also, they support FSB up to 1066MHz and 800MHz respectively to satisfy different customers’ requirements. Both of these chipsets support DDR2-667 memory, and furthermore, each of them equips one PCI Express x16 slot to allow up to 4GB/s of single transmission bandwidth.
SiSM672MX integrated chipset is specially designed for laptop PCs. Combining with the embedded SiS Mirage3+ graphics engine and SiS Real Video Technology, SiSM672MX chipset enhances the performance of Windows Vista Premium OS. It supports Intel Pentium M processor and DDR2-667 memory. Also, it provides one PCI Express x16 slot allowing 4GB/s transmission bandwidth for each direction.
