The government of India is allowing the use of proxy SIM cards carrying digital certificates for mobile phones to allow secure communication over SMSes and email. Currently, impersonating an email address is allegedly easy by downloading software available on the internet. However, these digital certificates will attempt a degree of authentication on mobile communication.
