Sennheiser has launches premium audio products in India, the IE800 earphones and headphone amplifier set HDVD 800 and HDVA600. The price of IE 800 is Rs 54,990 and it comes with a two year warranty. The buyers will get five pairs of ear tips of different sizes, along with a premium leather carrying case and a cleaning tool. The key technology in the IE800 is the Extra Wide Band (XWB) driver, which with a diameter of just 7 mm, is the smallest wide-band sound transducer currently available in dynamic headphones. Sennheiser claims this is capable of producing distortion-free sound at high-pressure sound levels. The IE800 as a result is able to perfectly reproduce the entire audible frequency spectrum. A vented magnet system in the housing minimises the wobbling of the diaphragm and supposedly reduces total harmonic distortion to less than 0.06 percent. In addition, a dual-chamber system absorbs the energy of the audio resonance caused within the ear, preventing any unwanted peaks. The housing is made of scratch-resistant, skin-friendly ceramic, while the ear pads consist of skin friendly silicone. A protective mesh on the ear cushions protects the drivers against dirt.
