Seagate To Ship 750 GB HDD

It seems just like yesterday that I was a proud owner of an 80 GB HDD and wondering what I could do to fill it up. That was of course before the advent of broadband in India and the invasion of the DivX era. Now, space is measured in the hundreds of GBs and the last major benchmark in terms of storage to be broken was 500 GB. Now it seems 750 GB drives are upon us. Dailytech has uncovered and posted a report, in which they say:

“ A PDF accidentally showed up on Seagate’s website earlier today with the latest details on perpendicular desktop hard drives.

Two 750GB models have already shown up on the Seagate website. The Barracuda 7200.10 ST3750640A (PATA) and the ST3750640SA (SATA) will be two new models we can look forward to seeing this year. The official Seagate PDF claims the Barracuda 7200.10 series will come with 16MB and 8MB buffers. Considering these two drives will be the best of breed for Seagate, it is fairly safe to assume these drives will have 16MB caches.” I guess 1 TB will also be a reality this year.
