Seagate launches slim external drive Seven at Rs 8,990 and Wireless for Rs 8,490

Seagate has launched its external drives which were announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. The 500 GB Seagate Seven will be priced at Rs 8,900 whereas the 500GB Seagate Wireless drive will set you back by Rs 8,490. The Seagate Seven drive comes in a stainless steel body and houses Seagate’s 5mm internal drive in a 500GB capacity. It is called Seagate Seven, because the external drive measures only 7mm thick. The external steel casing has an appearance which makes the portable drive look like an internal laptop hard drive. The drive has a USB 3.0 interface for data transfer. The steel design is meant not just to make the drive look good, but also add in an element of ruggedness to the drive. The USB 3.0 interface powers the drive.  Seagate Wireless is also a portable 500GB which will have a plastic casing in multiple colours. The Wireless is meant to be used as a wireless drive. It houses a Wi-fi adapter within which allows up to three mobile devices to be connected to the Seagate Wireless simultaneously. The Wireless can be used to transfer content such as photos or videos to and from mobile devices using the Seagate Wireless app. Seagate Wireless can be used to stream your favorite HD videos on your Android tablet or smartphones, iPad, iPhone, Kindle Fire, Windows 8 computers and Windows RT tablets. It comes in lime green, cool blue, slate grey, fire-engine red and white colours. Additionally, Seagate Wireless can be used to enjoy video, photos, music and even documents on the big screen via Apple Airplay, Google Chromecast, or an app designed specifically for Samsung and LG Smart TVs and Roku players. Both the products will be available at offline as well as online retail outlets such as Reliance, Croma, Amazon, Snapdeal and all authourised Seagate partners.
