Seagate introduces next-gen 1TB and 2TB Wireless Plus external drives

Seagate has announced its second generation of Wireless Plus storage drive which will come in 1TB and 2TB capacities. The Seagate Wireless Plus storage drives will come with integration with the cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive. The 1TB variant will be priced at Rs 14,500 where as the 2TB variant will come at Rs 18,500.   [caption id=“attachment_227308” align=“aligncenter” width=“720”] Seagate Wireless Plus has an in-built Wi-fi adpater which creates a Wi-fi network for streaming content[/caption]   Seagate Wireless Plus storage drives come with their own on-board Wi-fi adapter which basically streams content to your smartphones, tablets, media players and other Wi-fi enabled devices. The Wireless Plus now includes a new option to save content and files to the drive wirelessly through the updated Seagate Media app as well as ability to migrate files to the cloud services such as Dropbox and Google Drive.   The Seagate Media app’s new capability to sync your files on the Seagate Wireless Plus storage with an existing cloud storage provider means that your files are always accessible even when you don’t have network access. The Seagate Media app creates your own Dropbox or Google Drive folder, so files are available and at the ready. Then once you are back on the network, your files will automatically re-sync to ensure all changes are saved in both the cloud and the Wireless Plus drive.   Connection is enabled over a Wi-fi connection between the Wireless Plus drive and the mobile device, it creates its own Wi-fi network. The Seagate Wireless Plus drive is battery -powered and it claims a 10-hour battery life. Additionally, you can use Wireless Plus to enjoy video, photos, music and even documents on the big screen via Apple Airplay, DLNA or an app designed specifically for Samsung Smart TVs and Blu-ray players.   Recently even Samsung had announced a similar drive called the Samsung Wireless media streaming device . This is a 1.5TB drive with the similar functionality as the Seagate Wireless Plus drive.
