Say hello to a brand new E3

Yesterday, we carried a story on how E3 2006 may have been the last E3 the world was to witness, and to a certain extent that may be true as we now get word that E3 will be renamed, rescheduled, relocated and resized. Starting 2007, the E3 Media Festival (renamed aspect) will take place in LA, but instead of the Convention Centre, it’ll be held at “conference rooms at ‘at least one’ hotel in the city” (relocated aspect) somewhere in June (rescheduled aspect), instead of May. The reason behind this drastic change according is because a lot of major publishers felt this event was way too extravagant and exorbitant to be profitable. Here’s what to ESA president Douglas Lowenstein had to say, ““Some companies were frustrated because E3 was such a huge, sweeping event it became increasingly difficult to get their messages out.” e3logo.jpg

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
