Until now we had seen smartphone cases that come with a built in battery pack to add extra power to your handset, but the latest product from SanDisk takes things further. The new iXpand memory case from the company comes with built in storage to increase the memory capacity of your iPhone.
The case is currently available for the iPhone 6 and 6s and is certainly a boon for consumers who own the 16-gig version of the handset. This is also sounds like a much better solution to expand the storage instead of using flash drives sticking out of the smartphone.
The iXpand will be sold in three storage options, 32GB for $59.99 (Rs 4,000), 64GB for $99.99 (Rs 6,600) and 128GB for $129.99 (Rs 8,580). The new case will be available in four colour options including Blue, Grey, Red and Teal. There is also a companion app, that can automatically organises all of your content into media categories, manage your storage and even keep a track of the battery pack.
Now apart from increasing storage, the case also doubles up as a juice provider as it has a slot to attach an optional battery pack which has a 1,900mAh capacity costing an extra $40 (Rs 2,700). Mophie has a similar product but unlike the iXpand you cannot detach the battery module.
