Samsung has a lot planned for IFA on September 4. Most of the news revolves around the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, which are expected at the expo, but the company is not limiting itself to just these categories. The Korean electronics giant is also planning to unveil a set of printers that it hopes will increase its claim to being the "leader in mobile printing." Going by what we've seen of these printers, Samsung might not become the leader it wants to be, but it just might become the only major company to roll out a printer line with such a curious set of add-ons.

Ever felt the urge to hear your favorite song while printing that important document? Samsung is now going to address that need with the Indie printer, which comes with a set of speakers. The printer sports a retro design that gives users "the convenience of a mobile docking sound-system, while still being a printer."  Yes, there's a phone dock printer that plays your music and charges your phone.

There's also a small device called Wave, whose USP is a “minimal, organic design”. Users can simply to dock their smartphone to the printer in order to print out saved content. This is definitely a nifty feature, especially for those who type out content on their smartphones on-the-go and need a quick print.

One other device that Samsung has in mind is, for lack of a better word, colourful. The One & One printer is actually a mono laser printer that allows users to pick another colour in addition to black. The printer sports an additional colour cartridge, and users have the option of putting either cyan, magenta or yellow colours into it.

The printer sector is definitely an important category, with players like HP, Samsung and Canon vying for users' attention. However, it remains to be seen if Samsung’s newest additions to the field retro enough to stand out from the pack.
