Along with all the expected launches at Samsung’s presentation at IFA Berlin, came an unexpected one. The company has announced a new Note tablet for 2014, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. As the name suggests, the new tablet will come with a 10.1-inch Super-clear LCD display with a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1600. We are not yet sure why this is called the 2014 Edition.
The tablet will come with two variants, each with a different processor under the hood, similar to how the Galaxy Note 3 is being offered. The first variant comes with an Exynos 5 Octa SoC clocked out at 1.9GHz, while the second comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz for the LTE markets. Samsung’s latest tablet offering will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean running the show as well as 3GB of RAM.
Photography in the new device is taken care of with an 8-megapixel auto-focus BSI Sensor with an LED flash as well as a front-facing 2-megapixel BSI sensor. The new tablet will come with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models, along with a microSD slot that allows for expansion up to 64GB.
