Besides the flagship Galaxy S5 and new wearables, Samsung is busy building “Lite” or “Neo” versions of its popular devices. After launching the Note 3 Neo , Tab 3 Neo and Grand Neo , a “Value Edition” Galaxy S4 has been spotted listed in an official Bluetooth SIG , reports PhoneArena . The device is listed as model number GT-I9515.
The device isn’t a completely trimmed version like the S4 mini , and instead it is expected to come with similar specifications as the Galaxy S4 except for the processor. The S4 Value Edition device will be powered by a Snapdragon 600 instead of Snapdragon 800. So, one will still get to lay their hands on the 5-inch 1080p display, 13MP camera and other highlights of the S4.
Another distinguishing factor is that the Value Edition of S4 will run on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat version. Moreover, Samsung also plans to go all colourful as the device will reportedly be dipped in red, pink, purple, blue and brown colours. On the design front, it is still unclear whether the device will be a clone of the S4 or feature the faux-leather back cover seen on the Note 3. Now, the most crucial factor of this “value” device will be its price. However, there is still no word on the pricing or availability.
Considering the device was spotted at Bluetooth SIG, it is highly speculated that the company could unveil the device at its Unpacked 5 event, alongside the Galaxy S5 and the new smartwatch, supposedly based on Tizen .
