Yesterday Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand 2 smartphone in India which will be priced under Rs 25,000. The South-Korean tech giant also announced that its newly launched GamePad console for smartphones and tablets will also be available in India from January. The price of the console is Rs 4,999.
The Smartphone GamePad and Mobile Console allows users can connect to their Galaxy devices and turn into them into a gaming console. It can be attached to Galaxy devices which have a screen between 4 to 6.3-inches. Users can also connect Galaxy devices to their TV through an HDMI cable or AllShare Screen Mirroring. GamePad connects with smartphones and tablets through Bluetooth. The device is compatible with Galaxy devices running Android 4.1 and above and has been optimised for Android 4.3 Galaxy phones such as Galaxy Note 3, S4, Note II, and S III.

Users with Android 4.3 and above devices can connect with GamePad via NFC tag and get quicker access to games via the “PLAY” button. Some of the games which are supported include: Need for Speed, Most Wanted and Gameloft’s Asphalt8 : Airborne, first-person shooter titles such Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, sports titles such as SEGA’s Virtua Tennis Challenge, and Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia : The Shadow and the Flame.
The Mobile Console app is available for download through Samsung Apps or by tapping the GamePad’s “PLAY” button, and offers 35 dedicated games at launch. Samsung says more games will released in 2014.
