As leaks keep emerging for the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 smartphone, a new report has it that Samsung may be working on a set of Bluetooth headphones quite similar to the Apple AirPods. At the moment it is unclear whether the company plans to bundle these headphones with the Note 8 device or sell them separately.
In addition to being connected wirelessly to the Note 8, the upcoming headphones may also come with support for Samsung's Bixby voice assistant built in. This will allow users to use the assistant without reaching for the mobile. Along with this there might be an additional noise-cancelling feature enabled so that the microphone can relay information to Bixby even in a noisy environment.
It seems that Samsung is trying to mirror the 'runaway-success' of the Apple AirPods. Forbes calculated an approximate revenue of $3.1 billion in 2017 made in sales of Apple's wireless earphones. However, the AirPods are sold separately at a steep price of $159. After the big Note 7 blunder last year by Samsung last year, it would be a gesture of goodwill for the company to bundle the headphones with the Note 8.
In any case the situation will be a lot clearer in August around the time of the Note 8 launch. Recently leaks suggest that the phone may come with 3X optical zoom along with a massive 6.3-inch infinity display and a dual camera setup.
