Samsung launches the Omnia M in India for Rs. 18,650

Samsung launches the Omnia M in India for Rs. 18,650

Samsung recently launched a range of smartphones in India and the highlight of the lot was the Samsung Galaxy S III. The brand has a ton of Android smartphones in its portfolio, but it also releases handsets running on the Windows Phone operating system. Further expanding their Windows Phone smartphone line up, the brand has announced the availability of the Samsung Omnia M in India at Rs. 18,650.

This smartphone runs on Windows Phone 7.5 and comes loaded with a four-inch display, 3G support and equally good looks to match.

Ranjit Yadav, Country Head, Mobiles and IT, Samsung India, said, “At Samsung, we are committed to providing our consumers with more choice across the different operating systems and the Omnia M is our latest offering on the Windows platform. Omnia M is clearly differentiated on account of its very intuitive ‘Metro Tile user interface’, its large Super AMOLED display as well as its social features including access to the Samsung created Family Story, a cloud based network for family members to share messages , videos and photos."

The Samsung Omnia M is powered with a 1GHz processor and features sensors for an accelerometer, proximity and compass. Running on the Windows Phone Mango OS, this device features the tile based Metro UI that provides a panoramic view to its users.

  • 1500 mAh Lithium - ion battery

The Omnia M comes pre-loaded with applications that can benefit social media enthusiasts and it is the first Windows phone from Samsung to feature their ChatOn cross-platform communication service. For added social connectivity, Windows Phone’s People Hub unifies all messaging and contacts into a single portal to instantly sync with Windows Live, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The Omnia M also features Samsung’s integrated video-call feature, allowing instant video chats using the phone’s front-facing camera. The Omnia M also allows users to access their personal gaming information on Xbox LIVE, including recent games played, Xbox LIVE leaderboards and avatar, Gamerscore and Achievements – all from the phone.

The Samsung Omnia M also features the Photo Studio app, which offers various photo effects like Lomo Shot, Beauty Shot, Plus me and Dream Shot. The app also comes equipped with various features such as Face Decoration, which allows the user to embellish his/her face with various stickers and mosaic and print the images using Wi-Fi.
