Samsung launches Galaxy NX camera with interchangeable lenses

Samsung has launched a new device in its Galaxy Camera line-up. Dubbed the Galaxy NX, the camera not only has Wi-Fi connectivity, it is also capable of connecting to 3G and LTE networks. The Galaxy NX runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with a layer of Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX on top.

The Galaxy NX is aimed at serious photographers

The Galaxy NX has features such as Photo Suggest, which provides location based recommendations of popular photography spots, sourced from a huge library of images taken by photographers across the world. Other features like the Story Album lets users display special moments on one timeline, reframing and resizing them to create digital photo books which can be viewed and shared on other devices.

Runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

One of the strongest points of the Galxay NX is its interchangeable lenses. The camera is compatible with any lens from Samsung’s NX line-up. It has a 20.3 megapixel APS-C sensor and a DRIMe IV Image Signal Processor for performance. The camera’s Advanced Hybrid Auto Focus gives better phase and contrast detection, claims Samsung. It also boasts of a 1/6000 second shutter speed and 8.6fps video shooting. The camera is capable of taking RAW photos.

Works with other Samsung NX lenses

Since the camera runs on Android, users will have full access to all the apps from the Play Store, including image-related social networks like Instagram, photo editing apps like Snapseed and even games for when you don’t have any photographs to click. It has 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB through a microSD card slot. There is no word from Samsung about the availablity and princing of the Galaxy NX Camera yet.
