Samsung launches Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 phablets for Rs 25,100 and Rs 31,490

Samsung has officially launched the two smartphones in the Mega series of phablets. Both the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 have plenty of screen real estate and stretch our definition of a smartphone. The 5.8-inch Galaxy Mega 5.8 is priced at Rs 25,100 and will be in stores in the first week of June, while the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is priced at Rs 31,490.

Both the phones have more or less similar specs. While the Galaxy Mega 5.8 comes with a 5.8-inch display with a qHD resolution, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 comes with a 6.3-inch display with a decent 720p resolution. Both phablets run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and are powered by dual-core processors. A 1.4GHz dual-core CPU powers the Galaxy Mega 5.8, while a 1.7GHz processor does duty inside the Mega 6.3. Both the phones have 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB thanks to the microSD card slot.

Other common specs come in the camera department, where both have 8 megapixel rear snappers and 1.9 megapixel front-facing cameras. Like most Samsung phones these days in the Indian market, both come with dual-SIM support and have the typical connectivity options of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and more. As a nicety, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 gets NFC support for more wireless capabilities.
