Samsung launches Galaxy J5 (2016), Galaxy J7 (2016) smartphones starting at Rs 13,990

Samsung introduced two new smartphones in India today, dubbed Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 (2016 editions). The Galaxy J5 is priced at Rs 13,990 while the Galaxy J7 is priced at Rs 15,990.

Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 2016 edition smartphones in India today. The Galaxy J5 is priced at Rs 13,990 and the Galaxy J7 is priced at Rs 15,990. The Galaxy J7 also offers a double data operator from Airtel for up to six months that will allow consumers to get up to 30GB of free data. It will be available exclusively on Flipkart on May 10 at 12PM.

Both smartphones pack in interesting hardware and also a new design featuring a metal frame. The bigger Galaxy J7 (2016) packs in a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display sporting a pixel density of 402ppi. The same is powered by an Exynos 1.6 GHz octa core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The smartphone supports microSD cards of up to 128GB in capacity.

There is a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. Both cameras feature an f/1.9 aperture lens and an LED flash. Coming to connectivity, we get 4G LTE bands, NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth V4.1. The smartphone weighs in at 170 grams and packs in a 3300mAh battery. The J7 also comes with comes with a cost-effective 4G experience, due to Ultra Data Saving Mode that is said to save upto 50 percent mobile data.

Coming to the smaller Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016), it sports a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display and comes powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. There is a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP camera up front. The smartphone weighs 159 grams and packs in a 3,100 mAh battery.

The S bike mode, a feature which allows riders to enjoy a tension free ride, is featured in both smartphones which includes urgent call alert and motion lock.
